The healing power of vibration
This morning I woke up and for some reason I put Adele on…I never listen to Adele.

I am a HSP (Highly Sensitive Person), but this superpower of mine - being a Pisces Sun and recently diagnosed Autistic - has only revealed itself to me in the past few years because I learnt very early on in my life to shut down my emotions and my heart.
When we walk around with a closed heart - because for whatever reason it is too painful to feel - we are basically walking around numb. And having the gift to feel is the greatest gift we have as human beings.
The depth of our emotions is a gift that makes us uniquely human.
Walking around numb, especially in your early adult life leads to the inevitable dopamine chasing substances in order to feel…anything. I used to think I was addicted to drugs and alcohol to numb out…turns out it was the opposite.
So this morning, listening to Adele almost felt like the first time hearing her voice … I cried … at 8am whilst eating my eggs, with no real reason to as life is pretty damn good at the moment. Listening to ‘Easy On Me - having probably listened to it passively many times I’m sure - it finally got into my heart.
I never knew what all the fuss was about with Adele, yes amazing voice (obviously), but why so many people are moved by her songs was a mystery to me - but now I get it.
Pure emotion in every note, every word … and wow can you feel it.
Emotion is Energy in Motion.
Your thoughts are electrical energy, and your emotions are magnetic energy, and both together create your electro-magnetic forcefield - otherwise know in hippie terms as your Aura.
Both your thoughts and your emotions are constantly sending out signals to the universe, and the universal Law of Attraction means that like attracts like, so these ‘signals’ create your whole life and what you attract in to it (along side your Soul contract, but we won’t get into that right now!).
If we get stuck in certain emotions - or more accurately - if emotions get stuck in us (like literally in our bodies, which is where emotions actually live), then they can get us stuck in loops and patterns that can affect us in lots of ways, many that aren’t good.
Emotions are meant to be felt, but they are not meant to hang around.
Grief, for example, may be a longer lasting emotion, but grief will adapt and change and move through you (at least it should). Some traditions believe prolonged emotional suppression can impact physical health, so if we get stuck in grief (which admittedly is one of the tough lessons in life to move through), then the emotion can start to cause sickness as it starts to manifest into the physical.
One of the best healing tools we use as humans to feel is music, or sound.
We know this intuitively obviously. This is why certain songs are so popular!
Vibration is the language of the Universe
Literally everything is made up of atoms, and atoms move - vibrate - at varying speeds depending on the density of the matter. For example, gas atoms will move a LOT faster than those of a wooden chair, which is why you can’t just put your hand through a chair, but you can through gas. Your hand itself will be vibrating at a lower density level, so will hit the chair but move through the gas.
The whole Earth and everything on/in it is literally ‘buzzing’ and creating it’s own frequency, which again, you can hear (and see!) now scientifically if measured correctly.
Depending where you are at emotionally, and what you are thinking, will determine what vibration (or frequency) you will be in at any given moment, which will change from moment to moment.
This is why we say things like “We are on the same wavelength” or “I like your vibe”.
When a song mirrors how we feel internally, it creates resonance - a moment where the body recognises itself.
That recognition allows release.
It’s why certain frequencies calm us. Why heartbreak songs feel so medicinal. Why a single lyric can open something we’ve held closed for years.
The power of sound!
That allows the emotion to move through us, like visitors coming through a guesthouse - you don’t want the visitor to take up home there, but they can visit and that’s cool - but eventually they need to leave again until next time.
Healing isn’t about eliminating emotion. It’s about learning how to let emotions move without becoming trapped by them.
The trick is not to wallow - feel it, really feel it - but then move on when you can. The emotion will get lighter and lighter the more we go into it (and feel it) - to let it up and out.
It is the basis for all healing/shadow work - shine a light on the deepest, hardest parts of our inner world in order to release it, and not have our lives ruled by it.
Look in those deep dark shadows, sit with the tough emotions, sing them out, cry them out, scream them out … but feel them.
And yet, most of us were never taught how to be with our emotional landscape. We were taught to stay calm, be productive, keep going.
But calm isn’t always the medicine.
Sometimes the medicine is expression.
Sometimes the medicine is music.
And sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is allow ourselves to feel deeply again - even if it starts with crying over a song at 8am.
Healing is messy, but then so is being human.
What do you think?
With Love
Paula
